spring is just around the corner!

so i got the modem fixed and still haven't posted again since, what's my excuse now? well, i'm sure you're all aware it's tax season (if you didn't... you're welcome:). i'm sure it delights some of you and annoys others :) well we got our personal stuff turned in and we're working on business stuff now. all i have to say is YUK! we've gotten so little sleep trying to get everything "ready" for the accountant. pretty much every waking minute we're working on quick books so i haven't been able to get much done in the last couple days craft/house wise. i am hoping we get it all done tonight so i can get back to the fun stuff (and american idol!). i have so much i want to finish up and share with you.

warning: potty training talk ahead, detour if not interested:)

anyway, i am nervous to even say anything and jinx it but here goes. we've had so much trouble getting madison potty trained. we've tried it all and i have decided that it really is up to the kid! it doesn't matter the amount of stickers, gum, happy dances, m&m's, suckers, discipline, etc. if they don't want to do it, they are not going to! we pushed really hard several weeks ago with no luck then again decided to heck with it. well lo and behold madison decided she wanted to wear big girl panties. i of course was hesitant because i knew she wasn't ready and i wasn't looking forward to cleaning anything up so i told madison she could wear them but to please, please, please don't go to the bathroom in them. she hasn't had a #1 accident yet in several weeks and she wears them all the time (except at night). we've even gone to town with her in them and she tells us when she needs to go and we go. THANK YOU GOD! as far as #2 goes, instead of pressuring her into going on the potty (i think she's scared of it) we told her to tell us when she needs to go #2 and we'll put a pull up on her. we didn't think it would work, but..... the first day we tried it she came to me and said "mama i am done with my big girl panties for now, i need a pull up". WhAt?!?! i put a pull up on her and she did her business, told me about it then she went back into the panties. i know she's not fully potty trained but baby steps, baby steps. i'm thinking maybe now we'll see if she can go stand in the bathroom if she needs to go, then possibly sit on the potty in her pullups and go, then maybe take the pull ups off and set them in the potty to "catch" it. i don't know-for now i'm just happy she's making progress i was getting extremely down about the whole process. now that she's wearing panties most of the time we're going through a lot less pull ups, which helps the bank account! well, that's all of the potty talk for now.

for those of you we lost, hey, hey we're back on track.

it's beautiful here today! i have the windows open. it's like 60 degrees. it's so nice not to have to bundle up to go outside. i hope spring is around the corner. i want to get out and walk around the new neighborhood with the girls. there is an elementary school right around the corner and i'm pretty sure they have a playground so maybe that's a habit we can get into. i have 6 pounds to lose before i am back to what i was when i got pregnant with allie. i am ecstatic! wish me luck! i hope to have some new things to put up in the next couple of days so check back!
