anyway... we have had the most beautiful weather the past few days! i love it. we've been outside a lot. our neighbors are always outside. it's great! we all just gather in the street, shoot the breeze and watch the kids play. there are (3) three year olds on the block, madison is loving it! she's a pro at riding her tricycle now. between all the neighbors there are swingsets, playhouses, trampolines, and a pool. i have a feeling it's going to be a very happening summer:)
we are learning more and more that if you are bored in billings it's your own fault. there is always something going on. the weekend before last we went to a huge home improvement show which was fun! this past saturday there was a st. patty's day parade that was very entertaining, then we went to the craft show at the metra and we spent most of sunday playing outside. we were also able to meet brandon's dad for lunch on saturday as he was on his way through for a run. madison loved seeing papa!
i've been busy, busy as well doing all sorts of fun stuff. i lack one rose petal ball for allie's room and they will be done but i have the two i've finished hung and they look fantastic!! i still dread doing the last one, but it's almost done. so, funny story: remember how much i hated making the balls? i swore i would never do another one. well as we're hanging the second ball in allie's room madison says "nooooo- it goes in my room, i want one" in the most pathetic, sad, pouty, pull at your heartstrings voice ever. i felt awful, and the whole time i'm thinking no-please i can't make another one, i refuse! but at the same time i felt so bad that madison wanted one in her room too. what to do?? i'm really hoping i can find something fun and interesting that madison will want in her room and kind of forget about the balls. so i'll let you know what that one thing is, because i just can't do another ball.
i finished the pictures in the basement that i had been wanting to do and they look great! the previous owners left two huge pictures that just happened to fit perfectly in the basement but i really didn't like the oak frame (go figure) or the print that was in them. soooo, leave it to me to fix them up. i painted the frames then used some scrapbook paper and some ideas i found online and as simple as that, they look so good!! i also made a little canvas for allie's room. i plan to do one for madison's room as well, it's in the works. i just want to get allie's room finished so i can move on:) the canvas turned out well, not as perfect as i hoped but it looks good. i'm so close to having allie's room finished. of course i've already moved some of the furniture around from the way we had it originally because we had the changing table over the heating vent and it was making it really cold in there. i love it even more the way we have it now though. when we were in the condo and the girls were sharing a room i only had one valance to match allie's crib bedding since it was a small window. i finally got around to ordering a second valance to put with the one we have to cover her window now. you would think it would be that easy right? wrong! i ordered the exact same one and in less than a year they have already changed it. the colors are brighter, it's longer by about an inch and they changed up the paisley prints on it! it's different enough that when i hung it i could tell they aren't even close to the same. even brandon noticed, and that says a whole lot! you know i love you babe!! i was/am so mad. am i really going to have to order a third valance wait a week, and get rid of the original one because the company changed it up (not to mention fork over more of our money)? ugggg. nothing irks me more! anyway... moving on. i did finish the girls bathroom. i made the monogram prints for them which completed the room. i thought i was going to have to paint the bathroom but, turns out just adding new/brighter lights fixed it perfectly. it was just so dark in there since there was no window. thank goodness i don't have to paint in there. i'm beginning to hate it as much as the rose petal balls.
speaking of painting, i painted the hallway downstairs to lighten it up a bit. it's a basement so even though it is a daylight basement with big, bright windows it was still looking dark since they had such a dark color on the walls. i primed it about two and a half weeks ago and it stayed like that until i finally got the time/willpower to finish it. it looks really good and made a big difference. it's all slowly coming together and it's so exciting. it's so much fun making our house aour home! lastly a couple of weeks ago i painted (i know, more painting, can you see why i hate it so much?) an accent wall in the living room and replaced the curtains and it made a huge difference! i love it!
well, now that you have all the facts i'll get the photos up of most everything tomorrow (computer willing). thanks for bearing with me!
