4th of july festivities!

oh my goodness!! we had such a good 4th of july weekend!! it was fantastic. rocky, linda and jessie came up and we had such a good time.

rocky ended up taking a run on his birthday and couldn't make it up until saturday afternoon. so friday evening we had ribs and a fire with some s'mores, then saturday morning we went to the lake and had some fun and got some good vitamin d (we got a lot of that all weekend actually). rocky made it in time for dinner and ice cream cake then we went to the billings mustangs' baseball game, in which they won!! on our way to the game allie had a little milk accident, well actually it just wasn't a good sippy cup and spilled all over her. she was covered in milk and of course i had no back up outfit. why does it always happen like that? anyway, we stripped her down and prayed they had an outfit for her at the stadium we could buy or else we were going to be at the game with a naked baby:) they did have the cutest little onesie! on our way out the door the lady grabbed a toddler hat and said it was on the house, then she reached down and grabbed a baseball and gave that to allie too! it was so nice of her to do that:) we had us a little boy! the whole game everyone was like "oh he's so cute!" i eventually just stopped explaining and said thanks:)

sunday we went to geyser park to play putt putt and ended up spending an hour or so in the game room eating pizza and playing games before we played putt putt. we had a lot of fun! i think rocky won! then sunday evening we shot off our own fireworks since we'd be watching them the next night in laurel.

monday the 4th we got up and went to the parade in laurel, it was so good. i think it's my favorite parade so far... it went forever, there was a ton of candy, water guns and b.e.a.utiful cars. monday evening ended the weekend extremely well. our neighbors told us that laurel put on the best fireworks show, so we looked it up and it was said to be the best in the state. that was an understatement if you ask me!! it was incredible. it was over an hour long and they had it set to music and actually had a guy talking in between the songs while each segment was set up. during the middle of the show they had a candle lit moment of silence where they lit up three crosses and a soldier saluting. it was really moving. the whole time we kept thinking if this is the show what in the world is the finale going to be like!?! there are no words to describe it! it was fantastic, knock your socks off! by far the best fireworks show we have all ever been to. all of us decided we have a new 4th of july tradition!

well, we're in the middle of packing up now to head to denver for about six days and we'll bring my parents and sister back with us on the 11th for a week, and i'm so excited!! it will be the first time for them to see our stomping ground and new house!! i'm not sure i'll be posting for a while. hope y'all had a great 4th as well!!!

i'm leaning towards this as our christmas picture this year:)
