Day 66 - Election Day!!

No... of course Allie didn't vote but B and I did. It's kind of a long story and well, since I have your attention here it goes...

Election day got closer and closer and we hadn't received our ballots which I thought to be very odd. But as usual it was in and out of my mind like that then I started seeing the ever so wonderful adds on t.v. and started to get a little concerned. I finally decided that I probably threw them away thinking it was yet another advertisement. So, last night B casually says, "So I guess we're not voting then?" Ugh. Of course we're voting I just don't know how yet:) I hemmed and hawed over it this morning and geared up for B to stop on the way home from work and I would just take the girls with me and go vote at a site in town (I sooooo did not want to do this by myself with the girls!). Since I was dreading this so much I decided to call the Clerk and Recorder (thank goodness) and explain my situation to them and they so kindly suggested that we stop in before 7pm and pick up a replacement ballot, fill it out real quick and drop it in the box. That was it, pick a new ballot up, fill it out and be gone in less than 30 minutes with no standing in line. I was so thrilled to hear this! So, that's just what we did.

The kicker.... when we got there and explained our situation again they said that we had a note on our account that the mail was returned. Returned?!? I'm not crazy after all, we just have really dumb postal service!! I'm sorry to sound so harsh but we've been battling the post office for about a year now because all of our important information, ex. bank statements, refund checks, mail in ballots, etc. somehow never make it to us, but we received every advertisement and every piece of junk mail imaginable. Anyway, the voting situation was resolved (I'll tackle the postal service after I've calmed down a bit) and we were able to vote rather quickly. Both girls were in stow, Madison was asleep in B's arms the whole time and Allie slept in the car seat for the majority of the time. It was quite painless actually.

So, there you have it, our long boring story about how we voted today:) I look forward to receiving our ballots in the mail next time and just slapping a stamp on it when we're done!!

So glad that it ended up being a better scenario than you anticipated.
