We only had eight bags to check, including the three car seats between the 7 of us... not bad!! However, you should have seen us lugging these around to check in and out, it was comical.
Eight bags
6 carry-ons (diaper bags, purses and backpacks)
2 umbrella strollers
A baby in a baby bjorn
4 adults
2 toddlers
And a partridge in a pear tree:)
Let's just say we got some looks, a few comments of "I remember those days", and I just know people were thinking, "please don't let them be on our plane" ha! Despite how crazy it might have looked it was actually very easy, the girls were great and we were pros at it all by the time it was over:)
We were going to try and save some money and take the bus everywhere from the hotel, but the more we thought about it with three little ones we decided to get a rental car. BEST DECISION EVER!! I can't imagine not having that. We got us a minivan and like I said that was a good decision. Three car seats in the back the ladies in the middle and the boys up front:) It was great and I have to say I was impressed with that thing. It had more bells and whistles than you could imagine. I was totally the type that swore I would never drive a mini van and I'll tell you what that thing was impressive. I could not believe we could get all of our luggage and strollers and backpacks, etc. in the back with room to spare and 3 car seats in the back seat!
The four parents walked away from the week feeling pretty good about ourselves. We were able to manage the kids as well as have a blast!!! We packed in a lot of stuff into 6 days and wouldn't have done a thing differently (except maybe stay longer). I want to go back so bad, we were sad to leave:( The weather was perfect. It was so nice to get away from the heat for a while. I think the highest temperature there was 77 degrees one day which was perfect for the day we went to the zoo and took a boat ride around Elliot Bay. We all enjoyed the "rain" (mist) when it did "rain". Most of the time it was in the 60's. PERFECT!! Then as we were landing yesterday and the captain came on and deflated us mentioning that the temp was a good 90 degrees here in Denver... yuk! Am I weird or is it a little much to be 90 degrees with only a few short days until October??
Another big thing about this trip was that Allie is now a PRO at the bottle AND the binky!!! I was so happy it made things so much easier because I could just give her a bottle while we were out and about and she sucked on her binky on the the plane and a lot of the time she was in the baby bjorn. I am so happy!!!
I will admit that I didn't get a picture for day 26:( We were so busy traveling that day and I didn't pack the camera with us, it was in a suitcase because I wanted to have as little as possible on us since we had the girls and their stuff to keep up with. So, the pictures will start on Day 27. I'll post pictures (a lot of them) for each day so you can see what all we did. Hope you enjoy, we sure did!!
