The last couple of times that I have gone to get groceries it has been a nightmare!!! Either,
(A) Allie decides to cry the whole time
(B) Madison goes deaf, doesn't hear anything I say as she runs around the store screaming
(C) Both A and B!!
So, as I ventured to get groceries today I was expecting either A, B, or C, but praying for D,
(D) both children cooperate gracefully and it's a quick, pleasant experience.
God must have felt sorry for me and understood that if this didn't go well I might lose my mind because surprisingly it was a pleasant experience. (Clouds part, music rings.... Alleluiah!)
I was so happy for that reason and the fact that I was significantly under budget on groceries and gas that we now have more moola for our trip to Seattle. (again... Clouds part, music rings.... Alleluiah!)
Since everything I mentioned above went so well I let Madison get this little Cinderella toy that she was playing so peacefully with as I was checking out. I asked Madison "what does it do?" and of course got no response as she was so engrossed with playing with it. The girl checking us out said "nothing it's just a figure". I joked as the girl was ringing it up "so what is it $6 Madison" and the girl replies "nope it's $4". I thought oh $4, geez all for a plastic do-nothing 3-inch Cinderella figure, but Madison was very good for me today (and we were under budget) so I let her get it:) I'm not sure if she understood WHY I let her have it though.
After we got home, had lunch and everyone was changed, Madison helped me make some cookies. I tried to engage her in the counting of how many tablespoons, cups, etc... She's been trying to learn her numbers lately. She points and counts everything these days but always seems to forget TWO or FOUR. It goes something like this...
1,3,5,6... GO!! That's what she's been saying so we're really trying to emphasize the TWO and FOUR:) She did good!
BRANDON IS COMING HOME TONIGHT!!! Well, I guess technically it would be in the morning at about 12am ish but he will be home!! I am so excited we have missed him so much. I am a really happy girl. I'll end it with that.. night night!!
