sssssssssssso...

... we were outside swinging away when i looked behind me and saw this!

ladies and gentelmen i just about came unglued and my skin was crawling instantly! we had been told that since we had the ditch behind our house that we might encounter some snakes, ugg. but that they should more than likely just be gardner and water snakes which were harmless. okay, there's everything wrong with that statement in my book. snakes!!!!!! i don't do snakes, sorry. if this had been mentioned before we bought the place, well we might have a different address. that should tell you how much i hate snakes because i love this house and the amazing yard. however, amazing yard... not so amazing if it contains even the occasional snake.

so, the story, as i was saying we were swinging away and i looked back and saw the snake. flipped out and of course madison is like "what mom" so i try to pull it together and i told her that i thought it was time to go inside. her reply in the most pleading, sad voice ever "nooooo mom, i just want to stay and play on my new swing and slide".

me: okay madison come here, (pointing to the snake) "do you see that?"
madison: yes
me: that's a snake and it very well could bite us, but it might not either so just to be safe we better quietly go inside until daddy comes home.
madison: (very softly spoken) okay.

i called brandon and explained that there was a big snake in the yard. he, of course as calm as could be tells me he's on his way and he'll look at it when he gets there. what does he say when he sees it? "that's not big, and it's just a water snake" WHAT!! NOT BIG!! well, let's just say if that wasn't big then someone will have to call the paramedics if i encounter anything bigger because i will be passed out. so, that's my snake story. i really hope i don't get the pleasure of sharing another one with you :)

that's what i think about that!

i'm gonna do it...

annnnnd we're already throwing fits....
