This year we went to Riverton, Wyoming to spend Christmas with Brandon's family. We had a really good time. After a LONG nearly 9 hour drive up (it usually takes 5 hours) we made it safely Wednesday night. We had a huge snow storm hit Colorado Tuesday night. It started snowing around 5:00pm on Tuesday evening and was still snowing when we woke up Wednesday morning. We had about 6 inches already. Brandon decided to take Wednesday off so we had the whole day to travel (thank goodness). The roads were very bad in Colorado and got better in Wyoming but not by much they were still very icy. Then we finally rolled into Laramie, literally. Our truck decided to stop accelerating so we had to pull to the side of the interstate and figure out what to do. It turns out that it was our Electronic Throttle Control. Apparently on most vehicles if you run at a high RPM for a long period of time it shuts the vehicle down so the engine doesn't explode. Anyway, it was a simple fix, in fact the computer just reset and we were good to go, but still it wasted about an hour of sitting on the side of the interstate with Madison jumping all over the truck, she needed to move around for a while so that was good. We finally made it back on the road with the truck running fine when we came across an F-150 2-wheel drive from Kansas that had gone off the road and were stuck. Since we have 4-wheel drive we decided to try and pull them out with no such luck, they were very stuck! Thankfully a tow truck showed up and was able to help them so we continued on our way. We finally pulled into Riverton that evening and were so glad to be there. You should have seen the truck it was covered in snow and ice.Christmas Eve was spent playing games and eating! Then Christmas morning we woke up to presents from Santa and we all exchanged gifts. I think we all made out pretty well this Christmas! As we do every Christmas, it's tradition that all the Treese's meet in Hudson at Grandpa and Grandma Treese's to exchange gifts and eat our Christmas meal together. The food was great as usual and the fellowship was much needed! Most everyone was able to make it but a few and they were missed. Brandon, Levi and Rocky went snowmobiling Saturday and had a great time while the girls hung out at home, relaxed and watched movies. It was very enjoyable! All in all it was a WONDERFUL visit with everyone and we made it home safely in normal time on dry roads, thank goodness. Until next year...
