Thanksgiving and beyond.....

I can't even remember where I left off so I'll just start with Thanksgiving:) This year my sister and her fiance came here and we all had such a good time! It was so nice hanging out with them. We don't get to see them enough, but I'll take what we can get. We had a ton of good food, lounged around, decorated our tree and did some Black Friday shopping! Other than a few "homemade" things I get everything I needed for Christmas!

As I was mentioning in my last post, Miss Madison had a birthday:) She turned 4 on December 7th!! We threw a little party for her here at the house the weekend before. All the neighborhood kids showed up as well as Nama and Papa. There were balloons galore, we had Ice Cream cake which we had to "find" and we made some ornaments to put on the tree. Before we had cake I put up some clues around that house that the kids would eventually use to find the cake. It was fun to watch!  All in all it was a great party! On her real birthday she woke up to flowers and balloons and daddy made her a pancake in the shape of a 4! That evening we might have made the biggest mistake of our lives... we went to Chuck E Cheese's.... now they are hooked. The girls loved it and had SO much fun!! Madison talks about going back all the time!

Speaking of daddy, he also had a birthday on the 12th! The big "29"! Not quite 30 yet:) Madison had parents day at gymnastics that morning so mommy, daddy and Allie all went and watched. She did amazing!! She really likes gymnastics. Afterwards we had some lunch together and ended the day with pizza and football!

What I forgot to mention... we bought a 4Runner the day before daddy's birthday for mommy. I'm absolutely thrilled!! I have wanted a 4Runner forever. We sold our 2003 black dodge to James and Amy so it's going to a great home, although we'll miss her dearly:)

So, funny story... next year mommy and daddy will make sure the girls write their letter to Santa BEFORE they get all the gifts for Christmas. Yeah, since I was SO busy leading up to Christmas I completely forgot about writing a letter to Santa so when I mentioned it to Madison (a week before Christmas) she was all over it!! At first we wanted a pony.... well all I could think was oh goodness. So, we talked about it and eventually she came to the conclusion that she really wanted a dollhouse. That was it, that's what she wanted. So, I thought okay, manageable, I'm sure there are a variety of them. Wrong. Santa didn't realize that dollhouses were so expensive! There is expensive, holy crap expensive, then are you kidding me?!?! expensive. Bad idea. Well, Santa did manage to pull it off while keeping his arms and legs:) Moral of the story, write the letter FIRST. She was so cute about it though, we wrote it, signed it, sealed it, addressed it to Santa at the North Pole and stuck it in the mailbox, with the flag up. We even went and checked the next morning to make sure he got it:) Good thing Santa was on top of that one:)

We went to Riverton for Christmas this year and enjoyed seeing all the family that we don't get to see much now that we've all gone in different directions. Friday before Christmas we took the girls up snowmobiling for the first time and they did amazing. They loved it!  We were so skeptical but it turned out very nice. It was the first time I had been back on a snowmobile in like 5 years since the girls have been born and I was in heaven. I LOVE snowmobiling and I'm SO glad to be able to do it again! After just a few short days of being home, and Allie taking a fall into the railing and cutting her eye:( we went back to Wyoming to go snowmobiling on New Year's Eve with Rocky and Linda. It was beautiful. We went above Dubois, and it was just gorgeous! The girls got a little cold this time but did great for the most part. You learn a little as you go of what to do to make things better for them:) We stayed in a Dubois for New Year's Eve and eventually went back to Riverton Sunday and then headed home Monday.

The holidays were great this year but I feel like it just all went so fast, does anyone else feel that way?? I can't believe we're into 2012 already. Time has got to slow down some:) I'm going to look up tomorrow and the girls are going to be graduating...

We're home, taking it easy now. We're looking forward to my family coming in a couple of weeks! I am SO excited!! Mom, Dad, Hannah and Devin will all be here for a whole week. We'll have our little Christmas then. I really can't wait!!

Well, that about wraps it up for now, I'm sure I forgot a ton of things but that's what happens when you wait a month to post again:) I hope everyone is having a happy 2012 so far!! The following pictures are in no particular order...
