socks on a rooster: we're alive!! i promise!!

well here i am again posting like three weeks of stuff all at once but i just can't seem to manage to get it done little by little. lately our bedtime has been 12am-1am, not something that needs to continue but we have so much going on! i'm sure more parents can relate, once the kids go to bed it's like we just kick it into gear and can't stop because we can get so much more done once they are asleep. i have a hard time stopping and putting myself to bed, then the next thing i know it's 1:00 in the morning! anyway, enough of my excuses:)

the 20th was my birthday and i must say it was a fantastic birthday!! the whole week was a very exciting one!! brandon did SO good for my birthday this year! i have been begging and begging and begging for an iphone for like EVER! brandon had said "no", then "no really we're not getting them", then "lesley grace drop it, we're really not getting them, i'm not paying for the monthly data"! so yeah it was a shock when he told me he wanted to get me one for my birthday, i was beside myself and so grateful, but let me tell you the funny part... he got one too. yeah, i am not letting this one go anytime soon! i fought and begged and pleaded for one and he had a million reasons why not to, then ~~the turd~~ walks out with one too!?!? i love you babe! thank you, really it was a fantastic gift:) so that was tuesday (my birthday wasn't until thursday). wednesday we got a new truck. we absolutely love it! it's a 2012 ram 1500 laramie sport and the truck has every bell and whistle you can imagine. never did we think we would get a brand new truck, but circumstances allowed it and we are very thankful! thursday was my birthday, we went to red lobster and then planned on going bowling but for various reasons that fell thru and we ended up going over the weekend. brandon's parents and sister came to town over the weekend and the girls went shopping all day saturday while the boys watched the kids. it was a nice break! we finished the evening saturday with bowling and my favorite chinese food! sunday we went to the pumpkin patch and the girs had a great time! we picked out pumpkins and they rode the little "train". so it was a fantabulous 27th birthday!! thank y'all so much!!

for the past several days we've had about 5 deer hanging out in our yard, it has been so much fun watching them. we even got to see the two bucks fighting. i had never been so close to that before:) this morning we had a pheasant in our yard and he was gorgeous! i'm telling ya, i feel like we're in the movie bambi! we love seeing all the wildlife though! the girls especially like it!

yesterday we carved our pumpkins so they would be ready for our halloween party today. we still need to get some pictures of them completed but we have some in the process:) we ended up having to wrap it up quickly so brandon and i could get to our date night! yes! date night, you heard right! i took some family pictures for some friends of ours a couple of weeks ago so they watched the girls for us last night so we could go to dinner and a movie. it was SO nice! we saw moneyball and it was a good movie if you are into baseball. we would recommend it! now we're getting ready for our neighborhood halloween party which i'm sure will be a ton of fun, pictures to come soon... or in a few weeks, who knows:)
