our latest adventure was to arizona for our cousin gabrielle's wedding in tucson. we had so much fun! madison was so excited about flying and both of the girls did amazing! they are such great travelers. nama and papa flew with us and we all shared a mini van (which was awesome) and were just a couple of rooms apart at the resort. i don't want to speak for them but it think they were a little apprehensive about flying with us and the girls for fear that the girls would be a handful. i think they were impressed. our girls are becoming quite the travelers. madison just asked me yesterday when we were going to get back on an airplane:) anyway, we were there for 5 days. i could have stayed longer but it was great to get away:) we spent most of the hot, hot days in the pool! one day we went to a water park and went and played putt putt another evening (more on that later).
little miss allie LOVES the water!! you have to keep an eye on that girl because she has no fear. this was the first time she was in a pool and it didn't scare her at all! she was constantly shoving our hands away and running off in the little kiddie pool. so we spent most of the time hanging out there, and going down the slides. that was madison's thing. as long as she didn't go under she was fine. she gets that from her mama!!
friday we went to the water park and all had a blast, brandon and rocky rode quite a few of the slides and we all spent a lot of time in the wave pool. again, we had to keep a close eye on allie because that girl was headed for the deep end, without a care in the world. she loved it!! before we left, linda and i decided to do the slide that just dropped you. you actually left the slide for a second. it was fun though, we're glad we did it! the only drawback to the day, which really wasn't bad was the sunburns... oh the sunburns. we couldn't understand why we were so burned because we kept coating ourselves in spf 50?!?! well, we finally came to the conclusion on the last day that it was like two year old sunscreen!! that could be why? i swanee, leave it to me. sometimes as hard as i try i still can't get it right:) i was so proud that i actually brought it and we always kept it on... oh well...
friday evening was the wedding. it was beautiful. the ceremony was outdoors and the reception followed inside in the air conditioning. thank goodness for whoever invented the air conditioner!! i praise you:) we danced away and had a really good time. the girls enjoyed running all over the dance floor and gettin' down with it:)
saturday morning they had a baby shower for gabrielle who is due in oct. two days after my bday!! i ended up spending that time passed out in the room with allie while she napped but brandon, madison, rock and linda went and said it was a lot of fun! we spent the rest of the day by the pool and then ate out with everyone that evening and ended the night with putt putt. we got thru one course and were ready to play the second one when i ran to get us some icee's to sip on since it was still really hot! we all played the first hole and then decided to let the boys behind us play thru so we wouldn't be rushed. well, while we were all sitting there sippin' on icee's allie was standing next to brandon on the bench and threw her icee off then took a nose dive to the concrete. she landed on her head and it was the most awful sound you could ever imagine. we immediately grabbed her and took off to the er. here we were in this unfamiliar place and our little girl has nearly cracked her head open and we have to get to the hospital that we had no clue how to get to. the guy behind the counter gave us pretty good directions in a matter of seconds. we spent the whole ride trying to keep allie awake since she kept trying to go to sleep. we made it to the hospital and when we were checking in she threw up. this really scared us. when we saw the doc allie was asleep, there was no keeping her awake. since the doc didn't know allie and couldn't tell whether she wasn't waking up because she was sleepy or because of the head injury we opted for the head ct so we would know beyond a shadow of a doubt whether this was really serious. the ct came back negative, it ended up just being a concussion. thank goodness!! the man upstairs had to be at work because it's a miracle that girl didn't fracture her skull or end up with a brain bleed, just a miracle.... by the next day she was acting like the allie we all knew, like nothing ever happened. other than the huge knot and bruise on here head you wouldn't even know that happened.
we all made it back fine, flights went well and most of us slept sitting up with our mouths open we were so exhausted.... i even missed my free cookie...TWICE!!! that tells you how tired we were!
we've been so lazy the last couple of days, just trying to catch up on things around the house and sleep:) allie is doing fine and madison is ready to get back on a plane. we're going to be going to visit my parents in a few weeks in florida so she'll get that wish soon enough. that's about all for now. i've posted some pictures of our trip and some random ones that i have forgotten in the past.
