A clean house and new sleeping arrangements...

Yesterday I spent a good bit of the day getting the house ready for the photographer who came at 3:30 to take pictures for our listing agent. Even as clean, neat and organized as I am I still found it exhausting trying to clean and put away all of our personal belongings (toys, pictures, etc.) to make it "showable". They recommend not having many, if any photos of you out and to de-clutter as much as possible. Well, I understand that but when you've got two little girls and only 900 square feet it gets tight fast. Let's just say our closets got the most use they've ever had out of them:) I didn't just throw stuff in them but I utilized every square inch of them for storage (as well as keeping our clothes) but you might want to stand back as you open them just in case. This should make getting dressed each day very interesting:) I must say though, I don't think the house has ever been this clean and organized before. It really does look amazing. When I was finished I just looked around at how great it looked knowing this was only temporary and that in a short matter of time it would no longer be like this:) But, it was nice while it lasted! I should have taken a picture but oh well (I'm sure the photographer got some:)...

I finally did it. I decided last night was the night I was going to try and see how the girls did sleeping in the same room and... it was a success!! I am so glad it went well. In doing all of this preparation for the photographer I had to take down the play pen in our room that Allie has been sleeping in. I'm afraid that's the last we will see of that thing. Eddie Bauer does very quality work but you just can't expect a play pen to last when you run it back and forth in the house as fast as you can (Brandon). Ever since that incident (while fun to watch) it's literally been on it's last leg. So, I figured last night was as good a time as ever to put Allie in the crib in the room with Madison. Because let's face it, that play pen is toast. We put Allie to bed first so she had time to get into a deep sleep then did our usual bedtime routine with Madison. They both slept all night. Allie woke up around 6:30 this morning so I changed her and fed her then laid her back down and they are both still sleeping. I'm so happy!! I feel like we're starting a new phase now, Brandon and I in our room and the girls in theirs, that's the way it's supposed to be right?! Ahh, it's been a glorious six months but I'm so glad to begin this new phase:)

Tonight we were supposed to be going to Brandon's Christmas party at work but since we could not find a babysitter to save our lives we're not going. Instead, some friends of ours invited us to their cabin at Winter Park for the weekend so we're taking advantage of that and look forward spending time with them! Brandon's birthday is tomorrow, he'll be 28 (don't tell him I told you) so I'm sure we'll do something exciting for that. Knowing my husband, being on the mountain for his birthday is about as perfect as is gets so I'm very grateful for this.
